The circus was indeed in town when Dan Finnerty (singer, actor, comedian), and his band brought their comedic karaoke show to a packed out Friday at Opera Nightclub.
You may be more familiar with Dan Finnerty as the wedding singer performing “Total Eclipse of the Heart” in the Old School or “Fame” and “Candy Shop” in The Hangover.
If Dan Finnerty wasn’t enough comic relief, two back-up singers, Gene Reed and John Kozeluh, who are dressed in suit & tie, and matching dark brim glasses, accompanies him on stage. The musical trio transforms the karaoke act to a true cover band vibe accented with Finnerty’s onstage sexual antics.
Their opening number was a crowd favorite, “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, complete with off tempo dance moves similar to those of DWTS’ Kate Gosselin.

For those who reside in the “City of Angels”, The Dan Band is a staple of the LA night scene but can be seen touring nationwide.
Their performance of Beyoncé- “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” was my absolute favorite. Watching three grown men perform a choreographed number of an independent female anthem was no less than a “tear jerker”.
It was certain; the crowd was enthralled by the redheaded, blue-collar worker’s sexual magnetism and borderline vulgar gyrating moves.
